A-Course Sheep:
Course A is an all-around farm or ranch course designed to demonstrate the versatility of herding dog. Handlers shall not enter any obstacles, in any level, except as otherwise provided in these regulations.

B-Course Sheep:
Course B is an open field trial demonstrating a dog’s ability to control and move livestock in an extended area. Stock for this course are sheep, ducks or cattle. Text, diagrams and descriptions provided by AKC.

D-Course Sheep:

D-Course is designed by the trial course director. Handlers will be given the course diagram a week prior to the trial date. The club and the course director have the option to change the course or wait to give the course diagram out to handlers to the day of the trial.

Elements that will be included in the course are: Outrun, Lift, Fetch, Fetch and/or Drive, Take Pen, Freestanding Obstacle, and Exhaust Pen.

Optional Elements: Load & Unload chute, Sort Chute, Bridge, Gate Work, Extra Obstacles (tree, brushes, rock, farm equipment, hay bale), Mock Footbath, Stock Trailer, Alleyways, Shed/hold, Freestanding Pen with rope. ​
C-Course Sheep

C-Course is designed by the trial course director. The course information will be placed in Premium (entry form). The club and the course director have the option to change the course.
